Dust under my feet - Have a great summer!

Everything seems deserted and dusty. Everybody is hiding from the rays of the noonday sun. Only some animals are trying to hold out in a shadowy place. Can you feel the heat?

These are pictures from Nipomo and its surroundings. Somewhere between Los Angeles and San Francisco. I tried to capture the slow moments in everyday life with my pentax film camera during the hot californian summer months.

OF MOONS, BIRDS AND MONSTERS

While looking for inspiration I came across these really cool pictures from various blogs. So for my photoshop project I had to do a couple of weeks ago I worked with cutting out parts of pictures and playing with layers and other stuff.

ALWAYS READ BETWEEN THE LINES

This is the product of me becoming bored of my own drawing style and the way I usually organize motives and non-motives into a hierarchy, even just by the order of which I draw them.
The pictures above are all consequently drawn from left to right, bottom to top, one line at a time. Sort of like a printer does.

Actually, in the end I began to draw like a printer, just reading forms and colours and reproducing them without thinking or judging, which was pretty...relaxing..?

"Feathers filled the small room.
Our laughter kept the feathers in the air.
I thought about birds.
Could they fly if there wasn't someone,
somewhere, laughing?"

Any Lollipop?

Saturday was a rainy day. And actually I really DISLIKE rain. I don't know why but I began to draw something quite quickly and that's the result. Like it or not, it doesn't matter. At least I could express my mood.

Just to inform you: It has stopped raining today and I feel better. For next time I will try to draw something more happy or at least something less pissed.

UGLY MONDAY 2

Ever get the creeping feeling you're manipulated in dark and sinister ways by productdesign?
Then let's have a look at this innocent bottel of cranberry juice...

Extracts

"What are you wearing?"

This is an extract of a work I did for a school project. The theme was "on the border" or something like that. As you see I focused on the borders of clothes.

I worked with a black pen (ink would be better though) and gouache colours.

This is a short photographic report about all the different junk food places i visited during my summer vacations in New York City and California. I'm not really a great junk food lover but still i cannot resist its colorful appearance...

ANTHROPOLOGY - MUSEUM RIETBERG, SUNDAY

The streetstyle project "Anthropology" is an ongoing search of the relation between style and its surroundings.
Do people sometimes dress according to where they are heading? Or is it the other way round and do people with a similar sense of style just feel attracted to simliar places? Or is there no relation at all?
Other than portraiting people who seem to have a clear idea of how they want appear in public, I try not to filter too much, so it's up to everyones own opinion to decide if a look is typical for its surroundings or not.
So please go ahead and tell us what you think!
